A NEW CHAPTER
In the Fall of 2000, José Alfredo Romero organized a group of men and discussed with them the need for a new fraternity at the University of North Texas. After seeing a positive output from these men and with aspirations for success, he and nine other great men decided to find a fraternity that embodied their goals.
After a few weeks of research, these men came to the conclusion that Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Incorporated could help them achieve their goals and nurture their future endeavours.
They chose Sigma Lambda Beta because of its dedication to community service, scholarship, cultural awareness, and most importantly, its dedication to brotherhood. These men were impressed with Sigma Lambda Beta because of its accomplishments in its fourteen years of existence.
On Sunday April 29, 2001 the founding brothers from the University of North Texas found the eternal light of brotherhood and received its colony status.
On December 1, 2001 the University of North Texas Colony inducted their first line of 10 gentlemen, the Alpha line. On that same day the brothers were awarded with the greatest gift of all, chapter status. The University of North Texas Colony was now the Sigma Lambda Beta Theta Beta Chapter. After the seventh month of existence at the University of North Texas, the brothers established the 56th Chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Incorporated.
